Take Care 2.0
Central to this study is the integration of low and high-temperature ceramics, a technique that manipulates glazed and fired materials through controlled heating. By carefully adjusting the proportions of high and low temperature clays, captivating textures and designs are created and mixed into neutral clays. This process results in visually striking surface contrasts that exemplify the aesthetic possibilities inherent in temperature-driven transformations.
Take Care 2.0 serves as a continuation of the original Take Care project, extending its research into new realms. Utilizing crushed, unused earthenware clay, typically discarded when fired above 1050°C, the project incorporates these fragments into high-temperature resistant clays, firing them at 1245°C. Unlike its predecessor, this collection prioritizes the production of functional wares over purely artistic endeavors, fostering a participatory approach to upcycling for end users.
