Tanja Haramincic is a Croatian ceramic artists and architect based in Milan, Italy. After years of working in architecture and interior design she founded her own ceramics brand Claytical Ceramics in 2021 as a project intended to tell playful and creative stories about clay. In 2023 she opened Conca Lab, a community studio in Milan with the aim of bringing together the residents and creatives of the neighbourhood through workshops and events centered on ceramic arts, clay and handicraft.
In her ceramic practice, she continuously explore various techniques and production processes with an accent on circularity and upcycling in ceramic industry. Her research mainly centers on using local clays and minerals, as well as repurposing fired and glazed ceramic waste, breathing new life into discarded materials by integrating them into experimental artistic and functional pieces. The design of her pieces departs from the maximum use of local materials and explores the possibility of honoring the heritage and the geological availability of materials through experimentation with glaze chemistry and firing.
